Reported Dream:
I am sitting on the front porch of the house I lived in when I was 3 years old.  It is all the same as
then except I am my present age.  Suddenly a large group of people surge up the front walk and
start playing music and having a party.  I am concerned because I know my mother is asleep up
stairs and the crowd is making a lot of noise.  I try to get up to join the fun but I am unable to stand
up.  At this point I awaken with a sense of happiness with the party but it is very tempered by my
paralysis.

Day Residue: (what was going on in your life the day before the dream)
You reported that you were frustrated with plans for a birthday party for your husband.

Who are you:
You have told us that you are a 42 year old female, married 16 years.  You have 2 children and your
husband is a Dentist.  You have a BA in music composition but have not pursued your career since
your last child was born 6 years ago.
Here is a sample of a Dream Research Report.
Recommendation:

Continue journaling your dreams.  Look for reoccurring themes and
situations.  Be open minded about your relationships in the family and
attempt to deepen your friendly ties within the family.  Be sure to keep
playing music.

The opinions given in this report are only as good as the information you have supplied. The researcher can not know you or
your dreams as well as you do.  This report is meant to supplement the understanding you already have.
Archetypes Present in this dream:

1. The house is important to the dream because it relates to your personal
unconscious which is connected to the Collective Unconscious.  Since it is a
house you know from childhood, it may be drawing your attention to the
home / family life you experienced then.  Your unconscious mind might be
comparing your family life as a child to the family life now, as an adult. While
the house is an image of a house, unconsciously it represents elements of
yourself.

Being on the front porch in the dream could indicate that you are not afraid
of public scrutiny.

2.  The large group of people seems to be invading this home / family scene,
representing, perhaps, an apprehension about the outside world.

3.  Part of this apprehension is voiced in concern for your sleeping mother.
Further study might show, a subconscious understanding that you, as the
mother, are the one in the family who needs to be protected.

4.  The manifestation of paralysis in the dream may be drawing your
attention to an unconscious awareness of a lack of confidence.  This dream
image also may represent a fear of feeling low self esteem that is associated
with a lack of confidence.

5.  The fact that you awaken just after the feeling of paralysis might be a
very positive sign of your ability to overcome the negative feelings
associated with the affliction.
